WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 8, 2021 – Pretend to be a Time Traveler Day

 

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • NEW Health is hosting a career fair today from 3 to 6 pm at 161 E 3rd Bring your resume and be prepared to interview.
  • Drama students sign up in Herbst’s room to work concessions on Dec. 14.
  • Congratulations to Payten Coleman and Isabel Bennett who wrote winning essays for the Voice of Democracy Essay Contest. Payten won first place and Isabel won 2nd place for our local VFW Post; Payten’s essay has moved on to the district level.
  • Join the fun, we are having another poster contest! The theme this time is Winter/Holiday Scene! Pickup your poster paper in the office or from Mrs. Ressa. Your poster is due December 15th. The winners will be announced December 16th!!!   Please keep them school-appropriate!!!!
  • Candy Cane Lane is looking for a couple of volunteers December 10 from 5-7 and December 11 from 9 – 1:00.  If you would be interested in earning Public Service Hours for one of these days please see Sandy.
  • Hey students, this week we are having a drive to help out the Hope Street Rest Stop. This house offers a place for people to take showers, grab a bite to eat, or do laundry. A place to offer help! Please bring in items like one serving size items (cup of noodles, mac n cheese, popcorn, chili, etc.) socks, gloves, deodorant, liquid hand soap, and small toiletries. Most items can be found at the Dollar store. The grade with the most donations will receive an ice cream party!! Bring your items to your class advisors. Freshman; Mrs. Broden, Sophomores; Mrs. Johansen, Juniors; Mrs. Titus, and Seniors; Mr. Stalp. THANK YOU for supporting our community!
  • Next week is Christmas Spirit Week!  Dress up the last week before the holidays and show your spirit!

Monday – Snowman Day (wear a lot of white)

Tuesday – Green and Red Day

Wednesday – Winter sports day (ex. ski clothes)

Thursday – Santa hat and Christmas socks

Friday – Christmas sweater

Join in the FUN!!!  SNACKS Served @ Break!!!

 

MEETINGS/CLUBS

  • There will be a short FFA meeting today right after school. 2:50 pm Hope to see you there.
  • Key Club – remember to get your paperwork signed for cookie decorating with the preschoolers and returned to Mrs. Nielsen by Monday. We will have a short meeting Thursday at lunch.
  • Photo Team meeting today at lunch in room 413.
  • Letters for Rose in the Library today at lunch.

 

SPORTS/ACTIVITIES

  • Boys Basketball Open Gym-Gym-5:30 to 7:00am
  • SWINGIN’ INTO THE HOLIDAYS! Jazz Concert tomorrow – 6:30pm CHS and CJHS Jazz Bands. All concerts are free and will be in the auditorium (seating capacity limited to 200 w/masks and distancing).
